Welcome to the PERSEUS Project

We are thrilled to announce the launch of PERSEUS: Printed Perovskite Solar Cells for Large Area User Applications. Starting in January 2025, this three-year project brings together 17 partners from 11 countries to advance solar technology and support the transition to sustainable energy.

PERSEUS is co-funded by the European Union under CINEA, the State Secretariat for Education, Research and Innovation (SERI) of Switzerland, and UK Research and Innovation (UKRI). As the EU expands its solar capacity, with a record-breaking 41.4 GW added in 2022, innovative technologies are needed to improve efficiency, scalability, and application diversity.

Our mission is to advance perovskite-based solar cells (PSCs), a low-cost, high-efficiency technology with excellent power-to-weight performance. While PSCs have reached 25.7% efficiency at the lab scale, scaling up to large-area modules remains a challenge. PERSEUS will address this by developing three large-area PSC architectures for industries such as floating, building-integrated, agri-, and urban photovoltaics.

The project will create blueprints for multi-stage manufacturing lines, ensuring scalable production and enabling rapid commercialization.

Follow our journey as we push the boundaries of solar energy technology and shape the future of renewable energy.
